Avonlea Workshop on the Go

I am so glad some of my customers talked me into doing a Workshop on the Go Club this year. I have enjoyed not only these ladies but have thoroughly enjoyed the Workshops on the Go from Close to My Heart. I meet with these wonderful ladies the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6-9. We complete 4 two-page layouts and I provide the extra cardstock needed. We are finally getting into the groove and able to complete ALL four layouts in 3 hours from cutting, stamping, embellishing and adhesiving (if that is a word!). The cost for this great evening is only $35 (this includes shippping and tax). Each Workshop on the Go includes all paper, embellishments and stamp set needed to complete the layouts. There are 3 of us currently and we would love to have 2 more ladies join us for January through June of 2013. Once during the six months you would receive $25 in FREE product and for the 6th month I will draw a name from club members. In January we will be completing pages using the Avo...

Dakota Layout

I have had so much fun playing with all the new Close to My Heart paper packs the past few weeks. Even the kits that are not my favorite have enough paper in each kit to create beautiful layouts. I used the Dakota paper pack, a stamp set that came in the Rock the Block special last year,  black ink and a design from the new Make it From the Heart publication by Close to My Heart.

Workshop on the Go-Footloose

Image
Workshops on the Go (WOTG) are a fabulous item that Close to My Heart has created to help make your scrapbooking even quicker and easier while still giving it a personalized, creative and beautiful look. I compare WOTG with quilt kits, almost everything you need from start to finish is included. Close to My Heart's Workshop on the go include paper, embellishments, a stamp set and instructions. All you need are acrylic blocks, ink and paper trimmer to complete multiple layouts along with additional projects or cards. I completed the Footloose WOTG for August and love the summer feel it has. Here are two of the double page layouts I completed with the kit and will be completing two more double layouts this weekend after camping. We will be meeting August 16th at 6:00 to spend three hours creating 4 two page layouts. The cost is $38 and I will provide ink and extra paper needed to complete the layouts. If you love completing so many layouts in a short period of time, con...

Day 14-Use Your Stash-Birthday Layout

Image
I am finally scrapping my son's 4th birthday party even though I have not finished his 3rd birthday yet! I had purchased extra paper and embellishment when I made his invites so it was finally time to use them. I used paper from Pinecone Press, Creme Brule cardstock from Close to My Heart, Thickers and die cuts that I designed with Make the Cut and cut on my Cricut. Tomorrow's post will be more detailed, but we are headed out on a date tonight!

Day 13-Use Your Stash-Paper, Paper and More Paper

Image
Today's theme is paper. The thing we all buy tons of and are waiting for the "perfect" pictures to use it for and 2+ years later it is still sitting in our stash. I pulled out more of Close to My Heart "Twitterpad", my Simply Stitches stamp set, some random buttons and some Desert Sand CTMH cardstock and created this 2 page layout using a Becky Higgins sketch. I look forward to seeing what paper you pull out and play with this weekend!

Day 10-Project 12 January Layout

Image
In January I chose two lucky Facebook followers and will spend 2012 creating a scrapbook album following the  Project 12  philosophy of Scrapbook & Cards Today. This year instead of the talented Becky Fleck providing monthly sketches we can choose any sketches from the prior 2 years and they will provide a color challenge for each month. I did not do the color challenge for January. I chose this sketch from October 2010: Using the following products I created this 2 page layout: Close to My Heart Winter Wonderland Paper Twilight Cardstock Twilight Ink Opaque Gems Art Philosophy Cartridge by Close to My Heart I cannot wait to see what you do with this fabulous sketch.

Day 8-One Page Layout

Image
Since today was Easter and I have been busy for the past 2 days prepping for it I am too tired to put a lot of thought into tonight's layout! And, I broke my cardinal rule and did not add a picture. I gave myself a break though because I know exactly what 5x7 photo will go here when I get it printed. Therefore, if you complete a one page layout using something from this layout as inspiration AND you add pictures, you will get an extra entry into the drawing for a free paper pack. I used the Twitterpad Close to My Heart Paper pack and created this simply layout. I look forward to seeing what inspires you.

Day 4-Finish Those Layouts

Image
Most of us have layouts lying around in our craft area that we created but never added pictures. Today is a day to add pictures and journaling and get those beautiful layouts into your albums. This was actually harder for me than I thought. Obviously I had layouts to use up. Three that I had created this year and a 4th of July one I created at a Home Gathering that another consultant, Shannon Smoltz, did well over a year ago. The hard part was finding the right pictures. Therefore, I understand if this takes you more than one day as I spent quite a bit of time on my computer finding the right pictures and than ordering them and picking them up. Here are the four empty layouts I started with: And after I added photos and journaling here are the completed layouts: I cannot wait to see your finished layouts. Don't forget you have until the end of the month to post a link to your completed projects.

Day 2-Use Your Stash-Grab your Favorite Paper Set

Image
You know you have it in your stash, the newest line of paper you had to have and not only did you buy some, you bought the entire line. Yes, I did that last year. I absolutely loved the Bo Bunny Blast Off Line. I could not find it in town so I ordered it on-line and ordered the entire line. However, except for a few chipboard pieces here and there on birthday cards I have not touched this paper in a year! Today however I am using this paper. Today's challenge is to use that paper you had to have and still have not used and use it! If you are a scrapbooker create a layout, if you are a cardmaker create a few cards and if you make other crafts use that paper in a great project. I used the Blast Off line to create this 2 page layout along with an altered tag from yesterday. I used a sketch from the Close to My Heart How To Book Reflections. Here is the finished project: I cannot wait to see what you create today!

April is Use Your Stash Month

Image
Wikipedia defines a hoarder as " is a pattern of behavior that is characterized by the excessive acquisition and inability or unwillingness to discard large quantities of objects..." Unfortunately, those words  describe me with my hobbies. I have so much quilting and scrapbooking supplies that my husband swears I could go at least 10 years without ever spending any money and could still quilt and scrapbook all I desired. I hate to admit that he is probably correct! So, in order to use some of scrapbooking supplies so that I can justify shopping again, I am hosting 30 days of projects that will use my scrapbooking supplies and justify shopping again! I hope you will join me to use some of your supplies. I will have prizes as we go along to help replenish your supplies as you use them! All you have to do is in the comment section put a link to your blog, facebook page or on-line photo album of your completed project. You have until May 1st to post your finished pro...
