The Quilted Scrapper

Spruce It Up  is a beautiful new paper line from Close to My Heart. I am recovering from hip surgery and have been blessed with friends and co-workers who have delivered meals. I made this card using Spruce it Up and the January Stamp of the Month, Everyday Magic . The January Stamp of the Month is one of the better sentiment stamps available. Many of my customers love washi tape and everything about it! I have been slow to get on the band wagon but have been trying harder to incorporate washi tape into my crafty projects. I decided to use the Close to My Heart Black Arrow  washi tape and a wooden frame from IKEA to create this frame. Today marks the beginning of the new Annual Inspirations from Close to My Heart. I LOVE everything about it. I have seen so many cards and layout using the Sunburst design that I was excited to see a layout on the Scrapbook Generation Blog from May 2013. I used the May Close to My Heart National Scrapbooking paper pack Free to Be Me  to create my Sunburst layout. I created this layout: To create the sunburst I followed the directions from Scrapbook Generations. I used two pieces of old cardstock that could be used as a template. I lightly drew a line at 6" the length of the paper. I then marked the middle of the line. I then drew the sunburst connecting the ends of each sunburst to the dot in the middle of the paper. Before I cut the paper I should have numbered the template 1-9 so it would have been easier to put in order! The Balloon Ride paper pack was just perfect for last year's family pictures. I also got especially creative and used my Cricut Artbooking Cartridge for the overlays, doodled along the photo mats, inked the Color-Ready Wooden Trinkets , and altered a chipboard frame to enhance the family photo!  I used Lagoon, Sky Blue and Coca Ink for the trinkets and around the edges of the frame.  Close up of doodle work Close Up of wooden trinkets.  All these items can be purchased through me or on-line here .

  I am having fun this week creating fancy fold card for my upcoming workshop. This Z-Fold card may be one of my favorites yet! I used the Ariana paper pack from to create this card. The other supplies used are: CTMH Pear Cardstock CTMH Outdoor Demin Chevron Ribbon CTMH Outdoor Denim Ink CTMH Chocolate Ink CTMH Classy Doily Acrylic Stamp CTMH Joyful Wishes Acrylic Stamp Set CTMH Artise Cricut Cartridge All supplies can be purchased here . I used directions from Splitcoast Stamping for the cutting. 

I had a customer ask me to create a project using a dryer sheet like she had seen on Pinterest. In reality she just wanted me to create it and see how hard it was before she tried! First a look at the card I created and then I will tell you how I did it.   After a few attempts I really like this technique. It is simple and creates a dimensional and different look. First, the dryer sheet needs to be dried at least 6 times. The more it has been run through the drier the thinner it gets. Second, I ironed mine in order to get it to lie flatter on the card. Third, I used a spray adhesive to adhere the dryer sheet to the card, which then allowed me to pour glitter on the softener without needing additional adhesive.   To create the card I stamped in black the trees from the Close to My Heart Always Grateful acrylic stamp set in Black and then the bird in Cranberry. I then sprayed adhesive on the dryer sheet and adhered it to the card. I used my hands to rub ...
