Roxybond Blog Hop-Later Sk8r

Image
Welcome to the Roxybonds Scrappers Team Blog Hop! We will be featuring artwork from the Later Sk8R Pack. If you have come here from Jen's blog , then you are on the right path. I decided to create a 3-D project  for my son's bathroom. My goal is to write a note to him every morning! Besides the Later Sk8R paper I used the My Creations Bracket Frame,   Chalkboard Paper , Dimensional Elements Banner  and some retired Rub-ons from Close to My Heart. To stamp my son's name I used the Token Alphabet Stamp Set and Outdoor Denim Ink . The entire project took me no more than 30 minutes and less than $20 to create and of course I have plenty of extra embellishments for another project! Now hop on over to Cat's Blog for your next stop. Here's a list of all our team members participating: Jen Patrick at Roxybond Stephanie Feist-YOU ARE HERE Catherine Nowak at Cat's Scrapbooking Tess Hilton at Sassy Cricut Crafting

Close to My Heart Canvas Journal

Image
As soon as the new Close to My Heart Idea Book came out over the summer I knew I had to have the new canvas journal. However, I became stumped with how to decorate it. Thanks to pintrest though I soon discovered a great way to decorate canvas at this fabulous blog More Than Photography  and found a great technique that I just had to try. Her directions are excellent and the only thing I would add is to use lots of modge podge. Part of my tree did not adhere, but with some added embellishments it turned out. I love journals and the idea of journaling and gave this to our high school babysitter.

Stationary Box with Close to My Heart Collage Cubes

Image
First, I have to thank of Gerriann Armstrong of  Scrapbooking & Stamping Creations  for this fabulous idea. Her video was great on how to put this awesome gift idea together. Here is the final my product: I used these Close to My Heart Products: Art Philosophy Cartridge Dotty for You paper Sweet Leaf Cardstock Lagoon Ink Cocoa Cardstock Supplies: Box from CTMH Collage Cubes 2 pieces of cardstock 2 pieces of chipboard cut to 9x9 Ink Modge Podge or other adhesive Misc. supplies to decorate the top of the box. Cut the cardstock approximately 1/2" larger than your chipboard and wrap the cardstock around your chipboard: You will do this twice. After that I chose to cover my cardstock with patterned paper (even though most of it will be covered with the box I wanted a finished look. At this point I inked my collage cube box so it was not a bright white. I used Lagoon Ink: Now it is time to adhere your bottom piece of covered chip...

Last weekend my son attended the birthday party of a little girl we have known for 5 of her 6 years. We spent lot's of time with the little girl and her family and I love doing "girlie" things for the 3 girls since I only have Simon! We all have old frames laying around, so I grabbed one, painted it and used the Close to My Heart Dotty For You paper to create this fabulous Summer Wreath/Frame for my front door. I used my Art Philosophy Cartridge, CTMH Baker's Twine and Close to My Heart Cocoa Ink.

Day 19-Use Your Stash-Altered Canvas

Image
You might have noticed that there is no Day 18. Day 18's project was a bust and ended up in the garbage because it was so bad I could not even pass it off as my son's craft project:) Day 19 turned out much better though! I bought some 8x8 blank canvas frames a couple of months back to modge podge pictures from our Alaskan/Seattle vacation. I even ordered the pictures at that time, but never got them done. Today I finished them!!!! First I painted black around the edges of the canvas so if the picture was not perfectly straight or sized right you could not tell. Then after the paint dried I applied a layer of modge podge and laid the photo on top and gently smoothed it out. Once the photo dried a couple of hours, I applied a thin layer of modge podge on top of the black and white photo to take the shine off of it and give it a more matte finish. (If you are using pictures you printed at home, test first before applying to paper.) Here are my two canvas' ready to go on ...
