Birthday Cards

Image
This week's challenge on Use it or Lose it as to use this photo as inspiration for our project:

I was immediately drawn to the colors and large clock, so I used those two aspects of the photo for my 2 cards.

I used the following products:

Art Philosophy Cartridge
Snowflake Chipboard (Stars)
Lagoon Baker's Twine
Celebrtion Stamp Set-CTMH
Enjoy Life Stamp Set-CTMH
Black and Lagoon CTMH Ink
White Daisy Cardstrock-CTMH
Pearls-American Crafter

Be sure to check out the challenge blog and all the other great designers.

Chipboard Altering is Endless

Image
Yes, I said it, endless. There are probably dozens of different ways to use, decorate and alter chipboard. Chipboard is a fabulous way to add dimension and texture to your project. Chipboard works great on cards, layouts and altered projects such as frames and tins.

Here I am going to show you how to ink, cover with patterned paper and mist your chipboard.

To begin you need chipboard! Chipboard is sold by almost every manufacturer and I will be using Close to My Heart Chipboard and my own chipboard today. You can also create your own chipboard with a thin piece of chipboard and a die cutter.

Other materials I used were modge podge, Close to My Hear Ink and Re-Inker, Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist, paint brush, Close to My Heart filing tools and sanding tools, scissors, patterned paper and a sponge.

First I will show you how to cover your chipboard with patterned paper. You will need a piece of chipboard, modge paint, paint brush, sanding tool, scissors, and ink for edges is opt…

Oh Baby Mini-Album

Image
I have fallen in love with the Close To My Heart mini-albums. This is the second one I have made and it is for my cousin and his wife and their first baby.

I used the following supplies:

CTMH Mini-Album
Twitterpad Paper from CTMH
"Nonsense" Rub-Ons by We R Memory Keepers
Tiny Tots (flowers)
Brads-Colorbok
Misc. Buttons
Flourishes-CTMH

Some techniques I would use on my next mini-album; I would use modge podge to put the paper  directly onto the chipboard and then sand the edges, I would remember to plan ahead and put the brads on before I adhered the paper to the chipboard and I would leave room for more journaling.

I hope you can use this album as inspiration for your next or first mini-album.

Piece of Cake Birthday Card

Image
I am excited to be part of an amazing group of Close to My Heart Consultants creating for the Use It of Lose It Blog. Our first challenge was to use our oldest Close to My Heart Stamp. I used the Piece of Cake stamp set. It might not be my oldest, but it is one of the oldest I have!

I designed this birthday card to use for my mom's birthday:

Aside from the Piece of Cake stamp, I used some old CTMH paper I had lying around "Gingham Spring Combo" along with CTMH markers and Oak Brown ink.
I look forward to my next reveal in two weeks.

Monthly Scrapbooking Club

This month I am starting a Monthly Scrapbooking Club (will go from February-July) with 6 ladies. We will meet the 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:30-8:00.

We will meet one night a month and complete a layout that I have prepared, have snacks and spend the evening enjoying ourselves. In return, you commit to purchasing $25 worth of Close to My Heart product every month on our Club night. This is a great way to pace yourself as you buy all the wonderful Close to My Heart products in the current catalog.

As a bonus, each month someone earns the hostess rewards for that month, which means free/reduced Close to My Heart Product. So, once during the Club period, you will earn a minimum of $25 in free product along with the Stamp of the Month for the month you are the hostess.

Also, if you have a friend sign-up too for the Club, I will give you a free stamp set (Size A or B) with your first order. So be sure to share this with your scrapbooking friends!
